TOOLBOX SOCIAL PROGRAMME - MUSIC MAKERS & SOCIAL HUB

Do you love to sing? Do you enjoy exploring rhythm and percussion with instruments and props? If so, this programme is for you! Friday afternoons are all about singing, dancing and musical fun.

We offer participants a safe space to build skills and grow lasting friendships. All activities are suitable for a multitude of needs and are delivered by our qualified Music Practitioner.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Sessions are held in a large community room at Oaken Grove Community Centre in Haxby. This well ventilated space is fully accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. You will find two accessible toilets on site, as well as indoor and outdoor breakout spaces which can be used to relax and decompress. In the building you will also find York Explore library as well as a community café. The building has a large, free car park to the front and is also on major bus routes from York city centre and surrounding villages.

Toolbox Drama Lunch Hub

Between the morning and afternoon class on a Friday we host a casual lunch hub. We offer table top activities, board games and simple creative tasks in a relaxed environment. Bring your own pack up and enjoy this informal and social activity. More information about our lunch hub can be found here.

Music Makers & Social Hub

  • Time: 1:00pm – 2:15pm
  • Cost: £4.50 per session (fees are paid at the start of each half term)

Description: Join Alysha in this musical mash up! Explore different instruments and styles of music, with plenty of opportunities for a good karaoke style sing-along! The Music Makers activity will last 45 minutes, followed by a 30 minute social hub. We will provide hot water, tea and coffee during the social hub, should you wish to have a hot drink. Feel free to bring your own mug and spoon!
