for adults with additional needs
Toolbox Taster Programme
This summer we will be delivering a taster programme for adults with learning disabilities, offering participants the opportunity to experience our full programme of classes starting in September! This fun and low cost programme offers drama, movement, percussion and music making activity. At the end of the summer holidays we also invite you to join us for a community picnic!
The sessions will be led by our experienced practitioners Ellie Tillotson and Alysha Smith-Bednall.
Workshop Information
Sessions will take place at Oaken Grove Community Centre in Haxby. The building is fully accessible, with a large free car park to the front and a beautiful garden which can be used as a breakout space. The centre can be reached by public transport, with excellent bus links from York city centre and the surrounding areas. For more information about the centre, please visit their webpage here.

The workshop rooms have plenty of ventilation and offer hand sanitiser stations upon entry. Practitioners clean down all equipment before and after use, we are also operating with reduced numbers to ensure safe social distancing. Music Classes

Both activity sessions are suitable for a variety of needs and abilities. No previous music experience necessary.

Drama and Movement Classes
This summer Ellie will be hosting our drama and movement opportunities!
Get involved for lots of imaginative fun. Sessions are suitable for mixed needs and those with mobility issues.

Community Picnic

Join our end of summer celebration! Bring your family and friends along to this community picnic, where we will provide outdoor games, music and social opportunities. Please note that food will not be provided but please feel free to bring your own. Sharing of food and snacks is not encouraged. The event will strictly follow Government Guidelines, booking is required to ensure we are able to monitor attendance numbers.
The picnic will take place on the large playing field at Oaken Grove Community Centre. This can be accessed via the free car park.
