Cinema Trip & Christmas Tree Festival

Christmas is looming...
Bah, humbug!

The Muppets Christmas Carol
Relaxed screening, City Screen York

The Muppets reimagine Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol by adding a hilarious and heartfelt touch of Muppet magic.

The film will be shown in screen 2 at City Screen in York. This is a relaxed showing with no adverts, reduced volume and low lighting throughout. Attendees are welcome to move around the space as needed. There are no allocated seats, however we are able to reserve wheelchair friendly spots. If you require a wheelchair friendly place, we recommend booking your place early to avoid disappointment.

Ebeneezer Scrooge (Michael Caine) is a wicked, cold-hearted moneylender, angered by the Christmas spirit of his colleague Bob Cratchit (Kermit the Frog) and those around him. However, the arrival of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, teaches him to embrace the warmth and goodwill that comes with Christmas time.

Christmas Tree Festival

We are also offering an optional extra as part of our festive trip. Do you fancy taking a stroll around the atmospheric Minster to see their Christmas Tree Festival? This year featuring a very special tree decorated by Toolbox Drama members! We have been making sparkly baubles in our York based lunch hubs this half term, which will be showcased as part of the annual Christmas Tree Festival. This optional addition to our December trip is the perfect way to end a festive morning.

Experience York Minster’s popular Christmas Tree Festival, set inside the medieval Minster, with 70 trees on display in the cathedral’s stunning Nave, Chapter House and Lady Chapel.

Explore the trees, which will be decorated to individual themes by local businesses, schools and charities, and add your own Christmas message to a tag on the festival’s prayer trees.
