Sensory Music
for Adults with additional needs


This sensory music group is a creative and social experience for adults with additional needs. Activities include prop and instrument work, light and sound exploration, gentle rhythm and movement. 

We offer participants a safe space to build skills and grow lasting friendships. All activities are suitable for a multitude of needs and are delivered by our qualified Music Practitioner.

Tang Hall Community Centre

Sessions are held in the large hall at Tang Hall Community Centre. This well ventilated space is fully accessible for wheelchairs and walkers. There is an accessible toilet on site as well as a beautiful garden which can be used as a break out space if needed. Hand gel and anti-bacterial wipes will be on hand around the building as required. The building has a large, free car park to the front and is also on major bus routes from York city centre and surrounding villages.

Toolbox Drama Lunch Hub

After the music class we host a casual lunch hub. During this time we offer simple table top activities as well as a space to eat your lunch in a relaxed environment. Bring your own pack up and enjoy our free hot drinks station.

Programme Details

Sensory Music

  • Days: Mondays
  • Time: 10.30am – 12.30pm
  • Cost: £4.50 per session (fees are paid at the start of each half term)
  • Where: Tang Hall Community Centre, Fifth Ave, Tang Hall, York YO31 0UG

Description: Join Alysha to explore different the senses through music. From sensory prop interaction to dance and percussion – there’s something for everyone to enjoy! The session begins with hot drinks on arrival, where participants are able to socialise in the space. Our music activity runs from 11am until 11.45am, followed by our informal lunch hub.
