Immersive Spaces 2023/24
Toolbox Drama is thrilled to be offering a series of new events into our 2023/24 calendar, offering participants and their families access to sensory and immersive experiences. These activities have been designed with learning disabilities in mind, however all Immersive Spaces events are open for everyone to enjoy.
Our final event take place at Junction Theatre in Goole, a multi-award winning centre for the arts.
Garden Party - Saturday 31st August 2024
Take off your shoes and step onto the grass!
Step inside the sensory installation to explore projections, garden soundscapes and sensory experiences. Participants and their families (or support networks) will be invited to join us for a short storytelling session, followed by free time to explore the sensory garden. This event is suitable for everyone – children and adults alike.
We will be offering two entry times, 11am and 1pm. Each time slot offers participants a 20 minute story followed by 40 minutes of free time to explore the space.
Please ensure you book tickets for everyone attending, including carers, PA’s and carers.

Access Information: The event space is fully accessible for wheelchair users and walkers. The space is on one level with an access ramp into the foyer. Participants and their support will pass through a small café when entering the space. Here you will be able to purchase hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks before / after the event. Please note that you will not be permitted to bring food into the event space, however there are ample tables and chairs in the café. There is an accessible toilet onsite however unfortunately there is no changing place.
Booking Information: Please ensure you book tickets for everyone in attendance, including support workers, carers and PA’s. Booking is essential.
Travelling to the venue: Pay and display parking is available immediately outside the theatre on Paradise Place, with access to multiple accessible bays. There is also ample free parking to the rear of the theatre on Estcourt Street, with multiple accessible bays and free public toilets. The theatre is also located immediately in front of the train station, and Goole is serviced by several major bus routes from Selby and Goole’s surrounding villages.
