Toolbox Events

Toolbox Events

We are excited to be bringing a year of trips and performance opportunities for adults with additional needs.

In our events section, we will find a diverse selection of trips, events and performances in and around Yorkshire, which our Toolbox Drama members can attend for free! We are excited to explore professional theatre, experience gigs and concerts as well as sensory experiences. Venturing into the community and experiencing professional arts is a huge part of our ethos and we are excited to experience new things together.

Alongside our trips and excursions, we also look forward to creating our own performances. This year we will be hosting two large scale performance opportunities, where participants can experience performance on stage. This project takes place at The National Centre for Early Music – the national advocate of early music in England and a centre of excellence for music-making in the City of York. Located on Walmgate, this central venue provides participants and audience members with a breath-taking space which is fully accessible to a multitude of needs.

The Toolbox Drama team are also producing their own work this year, this project is called Immersive Gardens and will be delivered in partnership with Junction Theatre, Goole. These free events are designed to be theatrical sensory rooms, for audiences to explore based on their own sensory curiosities. Meet walkabout dancing characters, dance in the rain, create garden soundscapes and smell marshmallows by the campfire!

We believe that performing arts should be celebrated and accessible to all, which is why all of our events are free to attend. However, if you would like to make a donation to our events programme, you will be directly supporting all future events and projects. You can make a donation via our Eventbrite page by simply adding a donation amount when selecting your tickets.
