The Whispering Jungle: Theatre Trip

Join Alysha or Siân on a trip to York Theatre Royal to watch Concreate Youth’s performance of The Whispering Jungle!

The Whispering Jungle brings together ASMR, sensory play and sensory puppets in an immersive touring production for young audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities. Come and help the animals of the rainforest rebuild their home and realise that home really is wherever you’re with your family.

Tickets are free, however you will be given the option to make a donation. Donations are greatly received!

What's Included

All participant tickets include up to two free tickets for their carers and support workers. Please ensure you only book one ticket per participant – carers tickets are included.

Important Information

Booking is essential. Please ensure you have booked a ticket with us via the buttons below to secure your place. When booking, please also share the number of support workers who will be attending alongside the participant. This information will need to be shared with the venue. 

Please ensure you arrive ahead of the performance start time. A Toolbox Drama practitioner will be waiting in the theatre foyer 20 minutes before the start time. 

If you and / or the person you support has any sound or light sensitivities, please ensure you inform a Toolbox Drama staff member ahead of the trip.

Performance Time: 1.30pm – 2.20pm
Attending Practitioner: Siân

Cost: Free (donations are welcome! You will have the option to make a donation when booking your ticket)

Parking: There is no onsite parking, however the theatre is serviced by several major bus routes in York. The nearest car park to the theatre is Bootham Row car park which is a 4 minute walk from the theatre and offer 8 accessible bays. Marygate car park is an 8 minute walk from the theatre and offer 11 accessible bays. The Rawcliffe Bar Park and Ride also stops outside Museum Gardens, which is a 2 minute walk from the theatre.

 

Booking Tickets

Please book one ticket per participant attending – you are not required to book tickets for support workers, carers, PA’s or family members joining us on this trip, however we will need to know how many support workers will be attending per person. 

Tickets are offered on a first come first served basis and tickets are limited due to the nature of the performance. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!
